Hi CrazyCookie,

First, let me welcome you to the BeyondBlue forums. You will find this a wonderful place to vent and learn from others with similar experiences.

Unfortunately medication can take quite some time to work fully - typically 6 months. The other issue is that some medications suit an individual better than others. You may need to try a few to get one that works for you. Have a chat to your GP about that. If you are not happy with your GP's approach, feel free to see another one. Links at the top of this page should help you find a GP in your area that has an interest in mental health.

I had to change from my first one because while I could go up in dosage, I wasn't prepared to put up with increased side effects. My new one works great for me and has similar side effects as the first, but not as severe. I have been on that one for about 4 or 5 months. I have had some tougher days recently, but I no longer have to fake my emotion.

Well im kind of new to this and not 100% sure if this will work but ill try.

Long story short, I was told by the doctor I have depression and anxiety and he put me on medication. Everything seemed to be getting abit better but the last month I feel the black foggy sadness and uncontrollable thoughts and feelings on a daily basis. I did speak to my doctor awhile ago and was tol I am on the effective dose and cant be increased. Im hoping by typing this it makes me feel better in myself.

Anyway ill stop waffling and go back to fighting off the black fog inside me and faking a normal emotion for my families sake
