Hi there Zander, What a wonderful and kind partner you...

Hi there Zander,

What a wonderful and kind partner you are! We are sure this is a very overwhelming time for you both, but you absolutely don't have to go through it all alone.

As a starting point, reaching out to Headspace could be good, as they offer free ongoing counselling. You could chat with Kids Helpline for free brief counselling too, they are available 24/7:

https://headspace.org.au/
https://kidshelpline.com.au/

There is also a website called Talked, where you can access a text-based therapist with a Mental Health Care Plan. You will need a Medicare card, which you can organise through Services Australia:

https://www.talked.com.au/
https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-card

This process can feel tricky at first, so we would recommend talking to a trusted teacher, adult, or school counsellor. We would also suggest looking into these resources for yourself too - caring for a loved one can be really tough sometimes!

If either of you need any further support, we are also here 24/7:
https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/talk-to-a-counsellor

Wishing you all the best and we hope the community will be able to support you further.

Warm regards,
