I am not sure if I can help..

My daughter in law’s father was addicted to pain relief after many years of needing them for a forklift accident....Although the pain from his injury and surgery was gone...he continued to take the meds..

One day his Dr,,,then refused to give him anymore pain relief meds...instead when he felt he needed some for his pain...he had to go to his Drs medical centre and the nurse would administer some for him....at a reduced rate...

I know you want this done anonymously....I’m wondering if you could slowly reduce the meds on your own...It’s going to hard..because you really need to be wanting to do so...more then anything else....Another way, idk is if you maybe could stay with someone ...and leave all pain relief meds at home if you stay at someone else’s place or you could invite a few friends to your on the pretence that your just having a nice catch up with friends....with company it might be that little bit easier...they don’t need to know the exact reason why...

I hope others will call in and help you with better ideas...

Thanks for being so open and raw.

Do you have private health insurance? If so you could get a referral to a psychiatrist the specializes in addiction, I known few people who have gone down that path with great results. If you don't have private health insurance you could contact some community out-patient clinics?

Its so good that you have goals and from my experience they are achievable!

Hello all -

I am not struggling with addiction currently but have in the past. I saw a trauma doctor who is an addiction specialist and it was a huge benefit to me.
Get the best doctor you can find for your budget because sometimes the lesser ones will just not have the insight required for a delicate situation such as addiction.
