Fred,

Welcome to the forum.

Coming off medication can be tricky.

For me, the first thing is to be seeing a doctor so you can report any side effects that are worrying you.

I find keeping a mood diary so I can write down any changes while I am off medication or starting new medication.

Then you have an idea of how you are feeling.

Sometimes your body takes a while to get used to not being on medication.

What is the hardest side effect you are coping with?

Quirky

Hi fred2018, welcome to the forums. This is a topic that comes up quite a bit on the forums - if you use the search bar at the top (try "tapering off medication"), it will return some more threads you can read through.

Thanks Quirkywords,

I will use a mood diary, I forget they are quite useful, ah worsening low mood has been the tricky

thing to deal with but I luckily havn't been on the medication for a overly long time so hopefully soon things can stabilise. Cheers

Hi,

Im currently tapering off and to be honest it is the worst, and I hope it doesn’t get any worse.

I started on the highest dose 100mg then cut down to next lowest dose 50mg ( my antidepressants only comes in to doses 100mg, 50mg) at that point I only had minor side effects which were dizziness and some brain zaps. I did that for a month.

im now on 50mg every second day and boy those side effects make it not seem worth it. Every second day I’m incapable of doing any day to day tasks, I can’t drive (dizziness/ blurred vision) I can’t eat (I throw up everything) I can’t sleep (brain zaps and brain hurts).

my history 10 years depressed, 8 years medicated.

i hope you find help
