Personally, for me if you do need a line, then it's a somewhere in the middle compromise .

But it does depend to hugely, on just what that lines about and of wherever we are about that line.

Some things, can be blurred, others, a def no no for most people, so it depend on just how smooth you need things to be with others, or on how far you just couldn't care less.

rx

Hey there BBers,

Simple question I'm so interested to hear what other people, especially people with mental illness experience think of this one.

Is it better to be who you are or who you should be?

Hello - I think the answer for me is to strive to be the best version of myself I can (I often fall short but this is what I aim for).

Hi string_cheese

Interesting question.

For me, I need to be who I am—warts and all. And I really don’t care if I’m not everyone’s cup of tea.
I am blessed to have family, friends, work mates, etc that accept me and care for me just the way I am.

Kind thoughts to you

Hey there,

In my opinion I think that you need to be who you are. Genuine, compassionate people will accept you and love you unconditionally, not force you to fit into a mould. They would meet you where you are, not pressure you to be someone else. So I think it’s best to strive to be the best version of yourself, and hopefully the right people will be there for you.

I love this question, i think it’s better to be who you are. From my experience i was expected to be this strong person because I’ve been through so much but that then

means that reaching out for support felt like a sign of defeat.
I’d say it takes courage to be who you are vulnerable and all.
