Some lyrics that always stick in my mind-
I mean this whole song resonates with me but specifically "what you don't have, you don't need it now. What you don't know, you can feel somehow" - Beautiful Day by U2

AND

"We will be alright in the afterlife"- Dog Years by Maggie Rogers. Now I want to explain this one because some people might misinterpret it. She wrote this song as she was graduating college, and she explained this line as how up until this point she knew what was coming in her life/what was expected, so she associated life after college as the "afterlife"- the unknown, the freefall. As someone who deals with MH issues, a lot of my life at times can feel uncertain/scary/unknown, but this whole song is a comforting reminder that everything will be okay. Maggie herself says the song is "about change, about loving and leaving and still loving, about trusting yourself, about trusting the universe..."

"You've got stars in your eyes, so let's paint the sky" ~hold on, extreme music~ relatable song and it just has this sense of hope which is so amazing

"I'mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly" ~not afraid, eminem~ this is just so empowering

"Find hope in the hopeless" ~train wreck, james arthur~ what can I say, sad song but also means so much more than that

another song in general that has been keeping me hopeful is 'never give up' by sia I mean you can't just pick out one line it's just overall such an empowering song

Hello Quirky,

I think Sarah Blasko would be a lovely person to chat to, she seems very down to earth and I think also understands loss and tough times. Nice that you had a bookstore. I lurked in bookstores a great deal when I was a teenager, they were magical places to me.

I did not at all recognize the song 'fire & rain' that you posted, so I looked it up on youtube to hear the tune. It is an old song (from before I was born), but it seems timeless and not at all dated. I noticed that there are many people that relate to this song and use it to remember those they have lost. I am glad it brings you comfort Quirky 🙂
