I'm proud and have no shame my dog was my mental illness assistance dog and will be again. People have and will judge us but so be it i feel sorry for them.

Purely just a statement to the ignorant idiots out there.Having an asssistance dog is no walk in the park with a lot of the public.

Ive been accosted on the bus with people stating theres nothing wrong me to others calling out abuse because its unnatural for a dog. Ive had some drivers accost me that a dog is not working when it is sitting on a bus. Then theres the drivers who have claimed he was a fake because he wasnt a "labrador".

I had one driver claim only "golden coloured" dogs were allowed😂

I had a shop owner once have a loud hissy fit because she asked could she pat and i nicely said no.

The pharmacist i used to go to said 'jesses not looking or smelling any of the sweets on the shelf' so he then grabbed a chocolate bar and shoved it in jesses face and said 'here smell this'.

I must stress it has always been adults never children.

Jesses wont go in shopping centres or buses anymore, i just want him to be able to go to the dr ect with me again. The new id's a work in progress. It serves me right for throwing out his old vest and id.

I bet after all this your thinking oh crap why did i ask😂😂😂

no worries at all 🙂 I was stuck and didnt know what to say.....Im glad I did ask!

I find it peculiar that Assist Dogs are not recognized as they should be....I know that my years of having a mental illness/condition have warranted a K9 Assist dog too

Good on you for providing the necessary awareness where having an 'Assist Dog' is concerned!
