Things seem tough for you at the moment. I am listening.

Are you eating more now?

What support do you have for yourself and child?

Have you considered contacting local agencies, or lifeline, or local churches for support?

Is there anyone you can speak to? Friends? GP?

Just an idea... my son was sick recently with a virus and had problems swallowing food. I started with a a couple of cans of soup (from supermarket) but he did not like those. So I what I did was make him soup until he got over the virus. I made various forms of asian soups, as that way he would get the flavours, and some nutritional value as well. So I wonder if you have problems eat still, that might be one way to keep yourself healthy.

You could also have a look at this thread also...

Does anyone have any advice to help keep weight up and stay healthy when appetite is totally gone?

I have suffered an extreme shock and traumatic event last week, and have struggled with eating since then. The first 24 hours after I couldn’t eat a thing, and since then it’s been maybe a few pieces of toast and some fruit each day. I am cooking meals for my child and she is well fed, but I am really struggling with eating. I am a very small person so am already noticing a weight loss that I cannot afford.

Will this just improve in time?

I’ve had a bit of a tough time lately and I lost 9kgs in 2 months and it was quite noticeable as I am skinny already.

Keep eating when you can and what you are doing. I still haven’t gotten my appetite back completely but it does return slowly. 🙂

Thank you for your reply.

Ive lost 4kg in under a week and that’s brought me under the 50kg mark so I’m not in a good place right now. I’m wondering whether there’s any medication to help?

ElleG,

How are you doing now? Is you appetite getting back to normal?

You mentioned in your initial post on suffering from extreme shock. While there are medications to could take, you should speak with a chemist or talk to your GP about this. On a related note, around the time I started ADs, my GP was also concerned about my weight loss. So it is worth looking into.

Hi Tom thank you so much for your reply. My husband was arrested three weeks ago and has been held without bail. We have a small child. My appetite sadly is still affected.

I’m honestly not sure how to keep on going at this stage.
