Hi

Good post Gelati

January 2018 my wife and I kept it simple. We cut out potatoes, excess sugar, pasta, butter and bread. We replaced these with wholemeal wraps, sweet potatoes, rice noodles, lots of vegetables. I lost 16kg by the end of the year. Included was walking 20 minutes quickly 3 times a week, long enough to get the heart racing.

However, I've developed arthritis in both knees since and have reduced my walking down to strolling for the same periods and have put 6kg back on - not good.

So that does work.

Cheers TonyWK

Hello.

Does anyone have tips for healthy eating to keep mentally well? In particular how to have a balanced healthy diet that is easy to stcik to (especially for a full time worker), and resisting the temptation for ‘comfort food’ such as high carbs, sugar, oily food, etc?

Any other lifestlye tips welcomed too!

Thank you 🙂

Dear Tony,

Thanks so much for these suggestions - I think substituting as you’ve suggested might work well for me, and the walking sounds quite enjoyable compared to eg running (which I don’t like doing!).

It’s a pity about the arthritis, but hoping you can still have some leisurely walks.

Wishing you all the very best.
