topic losing a child in PTSD and trauma

Hi,

Thanks for your kind thoughts re my boys.

A social worker said to me back when i lost Ben (my 18 and a half year old),that time is the only thig that can lessen the pain. As much as i wanted to yell at her then, unfortunately she was right.

This kind of loss blows you to smithereens. And when you start putting back the pieces, you have to do it in a different way, compared to who you used to be. You literally become someone else. At only 6 months after your loss, you would have still been a zombie in a world of pain. So i think that now would be a great time,to at least have a chat with Compassionate Friends.

I'm going to do some training and become a facilitator for them. I don't check my Beyond Blue posts very often, but will make a concerted effort to check daily, in case you need some support.

Hi,

I was having a look at the forum this morning and saw a post from a lady who had had lost her little girl. I have lost two sons. One as a baby and one killed by a drunk driver almost nine years ago.

Whilst i have dealt with this alone, i am going to start attending meetings eith "Compassionate Friends". This is a global support service . Please google this and find a meeting near you. Trust me you will need them.

Hi marg

I have tried the compassionate friends they were really welcoming but it scared me to see the pain they were in many years after loosing there child . I was the youngest one there as well and I don't think i was in the right frame of mind it was only 6 mths after my daughter died. Now nearly four years later I've been thinking if attending again

Thank you for you'r advise and I'm sorry for the loss of your boys xx

Kelly
