Big Bang Theory

For some reason this show was stabilising for me following a traumatic and stressful period in my life. I think I watched the repeats several times over. It was somehow undemanding in that it was light hearted, humorous and not heavy, yet kind of about the human condition at the same time. It’s all very personal of course as to what is helpful, but that’s something I binge watched which is still on repeat on TV.

Hmmm. Im not sure because everyone’s trauma is different. To make sure, there is a website called doesthedogdie.com and will say if content could be triggering for different things.

I love the show friends, the goodplace, gilmore girls etc.

Hello, hope you’re doing ok. My favourite comfort shows to watch are Anne with an E (although check the content warning), The Office, Friends and The Chosen 🙂

I like The 1% Club. It's a trivia show, and trying to solve the puzzles might be a good distraction. There's an Australian version as well as a UK one if you like it and want more.

That sounds interesting _Gigi_! Some cooking shows I find to be a good distraction. And these are on Youtube. And then there is also iview for the ABC. My mum has been catching up on some gardening shows she missed when she was looking after dad.Even though it is a show she likes, it can also be a distraction for those (like myself) who are not so good in the garden.

Show that have been useful so far for me are Darby and Joan, Seinfeld and gardening shows. Will try some of the other suggestions

Hi Picture,

I had not heard of Darby and Joan and looked it up and it looks like one of those light-hearted Australian series with some humour but deeper meaning as well. That made me think of another Australian series you may like which is called SeaChange. It was on from the 1990s and was light-hearted, humorous and undemanding to watch, but also had some depth. It seems like a classic now.
