As a volunteer on the Beyond Blue forums I am very upset to hear about the loss of Four Police officers that died on the Eastern Freeway in Victoria late this afternoon...A few words will provide support to all Police Officers and their families

Good Morning Paul and to everyone else, it's never a pleasant reality to know that someone has been killed in a car accident and in this situation, four police officers have lost their lives to the people they had once loved, and to those who are trying to work out why something like this could ever happen.

Any plausible explanation can never be justified, and my whole heartfelt condolences and sympathy go out to all the families and friends connected to each person and hope that you never lose the strong bond with each other in this most traumatic accident.

We would love to support and hear from you in how this affects you in any aspect.

My thoughts are with you.

As someone who has family in the police force and has lost one of them in tragic circumstances my heart goes out to their family and loved ones and know what a difficult period of life you will go through.My deepest sympathy to you all.

It’s really very heartbreaking to hear of these 4 police officers have lost their lives by doing their daily job protecting the community.....

My heart and prayers go out to their family and friends as well as there work mates..No words could every describe the huge loss and devastation their families are going through...

Hi Paul, any family, friends and/or workmates will have a hole to try and fill and
there will moments when they feel they will be able to handle the situation but suddenly you need to talk with someone who will help you overcome this feeling.

What a lovely post and initiative - I hope that all of these replies are going to offer some comfort.

I do wish that I could add something helpful, to take the pain away because it is a tragedy over a tragedy and nobody deserves this.

I want you to know that my thoughts are with you - now and later, when all of this quietens down over the media I'll still be thinking of you. I hope that you have some support around you and if not, I hope that you're able to reach out and be around people that you need.

This was an absolutely terrible accident and I can't begin to imagine the anguish the police officers' families and friends must be going through. It's so distressing to see police going about their work keeping us safe and this dreadful accident takes four lives. The shock and devastation to their families, friends and colleagues must be dreadful. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to everyone who is affected by this loss.
