Hi all I'm Alex and new , I have been dealing with seeking justice for long periods of incarceration and mistreatment as a child and it has sent my anxiety and social phobia into overdrive just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and how you coped .

Thanks Dan , yes I started the legal process last November I had no idea it was going to be this hard making statements and reading old ward files , I think I have pretty much cried myself dry and had several nervous breakdowns ,I'm having a real hard time getting my anxiety back under control.

Hey Alex, Do you have a support network around you. I was sexual abused by a teacher and parents when I was young. I’m sorry this has happened to you. It’s a very hard process I’ve never seen my files I don’t think I could handle it seeing those pictures you are so strong mate. Just remember your safe now and not alone. It’s ok to cry it’s going be a long process. In the last year I’ve become a foster parent to my 2 nieces who were abused in care I’m waiting for the youngest to turn 16 so I can start legal proceedings against a religious organisation I know it’s going to hard but these parasites need to pay. I have the support of my partner and children Dan , I started this process looking for justice and there is some hope the police made an arrest last month of one of the people involved in a boy's home I was in back in 77 and they say there are more to come , it's very stressful but I'm hoping these animals are still alive to face punishment for the abuse they perpetrated against us boys back then especially for what they done to us at Tamworth boys home

Yes Dan they have a lot to answer for and it is still happening , when facs released my ward files they only released what they thought would make me look bad and to make it look like I came from a bad home which was not true and these files date back over 40 years so I can only conclude that they are still trying to cover these things up almost half a century later but that's o.k lots of man are coming forward now and naming the same names and places but different year's so they can't ignore it anymore, it's going to be long road but we will prevail , thank you for your support Dan god bless mate.

Hi Alex, Yes you’re right they will do what ever they can to cover it up they will lie, invent things that never happened. And if there is anything in your file that will make them look bad it will disappear Or destroyed. It’s good that other men are coming forward there is power in numbers and if enough people say the same thing it’s hard for a court to deny it. Use social media you can be quite sure there’s many more out there. The real reason why people don’t know so much about it is that the victims sign A non-disclosure To get there settlements. Look at the Catholic Church and it’s Cardinal. Dan.

Yes unfortunately Dan I'm not going through the court system but have opted for mediation and I will have to sign that none disclosure , I was informed by professionals that in court facs lawyers will drag me through the mud and call me an outright lier which I couldn't cope with so I have been trying to get my story out anyway I can before I sign that paper , it's not easy and is taking a toll but it is something I must do because I want people to know what they done to use children. For example, if you live in NSW, the support service is Wattle Place, a service of Relationships Australia NSW.
