Hi all,

Been awhile since I’ve been on the forums. Life has been a struggle at the moment with work and at home and my depression hasn’t been the best as of late. Anyone else feeling like this at the moment?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out.

I know when I was home based for many activities (work/study) sometimes the walls got the best of me and my mind would play mental gymnastics.

However, what I found worked for me was to have a routine, to make sure I was reaching out to work colleagues via phone or online often. Making sure I also got out on my lunch break and not work through. I would eat and then go for a walk even 10-20 minutes getting out and connecting with nature, sunshine on my face, and that mental disconnect from work would improve my mental health, mood, energy and even focus. Also making sure I am prioritising my sleep and sticking to a regular routine as well as that can affect mood as well.

Making sure you have a good doctor and therapist to assist you for these times when you may be feeling a little flat is helpful and supportive too. Self-care is essential.

Sometimes just the mental acceptance of today is one of those days and riding those waves was helpful. "This too shall pass..." on the heavier days.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful and see what you can add in to your own self-care routine. 🌻
