I feel similar to the way you feel. Obviously we experience things differently. I have become a part time recluse, only because I have to work. When I’m around people I feel like I’m acting. I have suffered anxiety and depression for most of my 66 years, but at least I had more emotions. Now I have anhedonia.
I just want to let you know that you are not alone

What do you do if you just feel numb all of the time. I used to feel sad a lot and really depressed, but now I just feel nothing. I match everyone’s energy when I’m around people, so they don’t think something is wrong. Should I be worried because I feel nothing? Or is it better?

hi!!

I just want to start off with saying that although I dont understand completely how u feel and to be fair we all dont know how we each feel individually however if you're experiencing a constant feeling of numbness, its so so important to seek professional guidance. although i can admit I was hesitant to go at first it feel so much better to be able to dump this onto a professional instead of it boiling up and pouring over. also it may seem a bit hard now but doing or engaging in some fun activities like sports or like drawing can really make you feel better, or like even volunteering for the community has made me feel like I have a sense of purpose. but remember you're worth so much and I can guarantee uve got this! ❤️❤️

Hi NO_N4ME

Life would definitely be so much easier if we were taught how feelings work, from the very beginning or our life. Then we'd be able to say things along the lines of 'I know exactly why I'm feeling numbness' or 'It makes complete sense as to why I'm feeling this high or that low'. Without such an education, it tends to be more so along the lines of 'What the heck is this feeling I'm experiencing or sensing within myself?!'.

Putting chemistry aside, such as with being able to sense or feel the effects of dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins, cortisol etc, sometimes it pays to simply question 'How or what am I naturally feeling?'. For example

If I can feel or sense no one around me raising me in any way, logic says I'm going to feel what 'down' feels like

If I can feel or sense everyone around me exhausting me, logic says I'm going to feel what 'exhaustion' feels like

If I can feel or sense emotional detachment (which has come to exist for one reason or another), logic says I'm going to feel what 'nothing' or 'no emotional connection' feels like

If I require plenty of energy in order to be able to feel or sense, a serious energy deficiency (including chemical energy like iron, b12 etc), won't allow me to be able to feel or sense all that much. I'll feel what 'an energy deficiency' feels like because it comes with side effects

I've found the question becomes 'What's lacking that I need?' or 'What do I need to feel and how do I manage gaining that? What helpful guides/resources to I need to find?'. Yep, all easier said than done, identifying the lack and gaining what's needed.
