Hey Fred2018

Its always great to see you! You have written a good thread topic re cognitive issues of Depression/Stress. There are heaps of answers yet sometimes not always 'visible' to us when we are doing it hard Fred

You mentioned ' im not sure whats to say the cause is yet'...and I also used to look for the 'cause' too! The symptoms are trying to let us know we have a lot on our plate....at this time

Today was a very difficult day for me as I had to do probably my first working from home induction for a new job. My mood has been getting progressively worse the second half of this year but the irritability/low frustration tolerance/ brain fog have been tricky to handle and today learning some pretty frustrating technology over zoom was quite the experience. Can someone direct me to any other threads about dealing with the cognitive issues connected to depression or bad stress/ anxiety im not sure whats to say the cause is yet. I question if its bad stress but the way I'm waking up of late makes me think its depression but will see my psych next week. Anyways at least Covid in Melbourne is going in the right direction so that with help people' mental overall. Cheers

Hi fred2018...sorry for the double post

In a Nutshell....'Bad Stress' can give us brain fog...lack of concentration/focus/sleep...absolutely and very common to experience...I have used the Zoom equivalent for conferences (Blue Jeans) and the tech can be a pain when we are unfamiliar with it . I understand your frustration and anguish there!

In a Nutshell/2....Anxiety/Depression is different from bad stress as anxiety/depression feelings can make it difficult to function effectively in any situation on a prolonged daily basis

You have an excellent focus where your health is concerned and being a part of the forum family too!

This is only my humble opinion after having chronic anxiety for a long time...You have a counsellor (psych) already and kudos to you. Having a GP you can see is invaluable inbetween your counselling appointments.

I have been seeing my GP every 4-6 weeks since 1996 when I was 36 for a for a 'tune up' ..(as well as seeing my psych when she was available)

That aside....please be gentle to yourself....we havent had a pandemic for 102 years...and you are doing so well working through it while Melbourne is going in the right direction as you mentioned Fred

you are an amazing person Fred..I hope some of this has been helpful...Any questions are always welcome!

Hi fred2018,

Thanks for your post and reaching out. Paul has already offered some great support so I won't double up on this one! I just thought I'd share some threads of others going through this too -
