Hi, first off - good on you for posting and for recognising you need to seek help. That is a courageous move.

Tony is right. We can go to others to seek help, but things truly won't get better unless we work on inner healing and acceptance.

I don't know how you feel exactly, but I can relate to your experience. I was born with a condition which does impact my appearance. It is hard to feel like we don't look good when so much of society is guided by appearance and physical beauty. Often I have found that my condition itself isn't the problem so much as how others treat me.

My condition can't be cured so I've had to look for other areas of myself besides appearance in which I can find goodness. Sometimes I have simply written down the things I like about myself. I keep nice messages and cards from people and read them to remind me that I'm not so bad. Or each day I try to think about three things I'm grateful for, or things I did well during the day. When I feel depressed it's not so easy to do that, because I feel like I'm nothing, but it's important.

Hi, welcome

We can seek mefical help through a GP and other professionals. We can seek therapy. But the one thing that can change us for the better forever...is to accept ourselves for who we are.

Once we have valued our fingerprint as thete not being another one like it on our planet, once we appreciate how we can be kind then we raise ourselves.

Us overweight people wont ever be slim but there are slim people that will never have empathy.

I had a slim brother in law once that could never give love to anyone. He didnt know how. I'm so much luckier and so are you.

There is a message in the following threads. Look for them. Use google. just read the first post in each
