Hey Possum,

This is an interesting principle. I find it fascinating to see that hungry is in that list, but I suppose it's true. Our stomach's really do rule a big part of decision making.

I know I have a similar thing with BPD which, on an emotional scale, is often likened to bipolar 2. So I just try to be really aware of how I'm feeling, and let people know so they can help me work on those things since I tend to be a pretty bad decision maker when I'm either. I think it bugs people that I'm telling them constantly that I'm tired or hungry (lol - turns out my two major complaints are part of that) but oh well. My needs come first for me, and they can choose what to do with their needs.

The anger and loneliness I still miss until it's too late. But it's a work in progress!

Thanks

Like many with mood disorders, managing these moods can seriously take over our entire lives.

As a bipolar ii sufferer, undertaking medication and therapy (limited), there's still little things that we can do in trying to curb these moods.

Letting our emotions get the better of us, lends a hand to strong mood changes. Emotions require managing for everyone, regardless of who you are, but us bipolar folk need to be even more careful.

I have read a lot about the HALT principle.

This involves identifying when our emotions are changing and acting on this.

Are we?

H - hungry

A - angry

L - lonely

T - tired

Once you've looked at these, then work hard to try and remedy this, before the emotions take off and are moods start sliding (up of down or even sideways)

Seems small, but it's a practical step we can implement when reviewing how we feel

Peace x

This is great. Noted. I know those things tend to affect me. All of them. Stress as well.
