Hi <G class="gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="5" data-gr-id="5">Leanner</G>,

Nice to e-meet you.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar late last year, and I want to offer my support around medications. It's a hard struggle, I have been on all sorts of medications before, and I feel it's a trial and error kind-of-thing. Especially when I was in the mental health ward, I had no say in my medications and that made things more difficult for me. Some <G class="gr_ gr_677 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="677" data-gr-id="677">makes</G> me really <G class="gr_ gr_595 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="595" data-gr-id="595">drowsy,</G> and affects my activities of daily living. To the point sometimes I don't get out of bed 12 hours later after going to bed. I am still on medications now, but different ones but I am seeing so much progress and recovery in my life. I am eating well, exercising so much more, socialising and seeing the brighter side of life every day.

You are not alone. Please don't forget that.

I was diagnosed nearly 2 years ago with anxiety and depression. I'm doing the whole medication and engaging with a psychologist and psychiatrist on a monthly basis. I am almost at my wits end with it all. I don't feel that I am progressing at all!!

I am still very unhappy in my life and I work in a job that I barely like. I'm not doing anything positive to help myself, I don't eat properly, I don't exercise or get out at all. I want to get out of this rut but don't seem to have the get-up and go to get it happening. I wonder if my life will be any different to the extent that I can say that I am in remission.

Hey Leanner,

Welcome and I'm glad Suzi's given you a very warm welcome already.

Suzi's made some good points about eating well, exercising and trying to socialise more as well. It's really hard when we are suffering from depression and anxiety, but the one thing we know is that staying in bed won't help things. It's completely understandable because it's exhausting to even just wake up for another day, but we need to make sure we do things that are positive for our recovery.

Have you set any goals in your therapy sessions that you and your therapists are working towards?
