Hi CaitieLiz80

Thanks for posting a a great thread topic re depression and the black hole we find ourselves in.

3 months is still relatively early as we are still trying to find our way. I do understand your pain as this is my 21st year medicated with depression

Its good that you have a great husband...that is a huge support!

I have a 25 year old daughter that lives away so I understand about the loneliness as live alone.

My mum had 4 kids and kudos to you CaitieLiz.....I dont know how you do it....seriously!

Good on you for starting the meds....They arent a fix all but do provide a solid platform on which we can combine counseling and the various coping techniques to enable a more effective recovery

I do feel your pain with being in a 'busy & noisy' place and still feel isolated/lonely. I could fill a stadium and still feel the same loneliness as you do CaitieLiz

If you can find the time mix the meds with super regular counseling....even seeing your GP super frequent is great value. (I still see mine every month for a 'tune up')

Thankyou so much for the help/input that you provided on another thread today. I was struggling for someone else to jump in and you popped in out of the blue and provided the support I was hoping for 🙂

Ive been on the forums since Jan 2016 after being made redundant. There are many gentle people here that can be here for you CaitieLiz

The forums are also a judgement free zone. You will never be judged here....only supported:-)

my kind thoughts for you

Hi all.

So I have been reading up on things and taking in other posts. It seems like a warm and embracing community on here.

I've been on my new meds for depression for almost 3 months. I am still strugglung with dark thoughts and finding balance. It's been a long time unmedicated so i guess it's takibg time to find my way. I really need the meds....noticing the difference in me if I forget a day's dose.

I've found the last 2 weeks particularly hard as work has been quiet so my routine has been a little different. I've loved the time to myself but now at night i struggle with restlessness and I feel very lonely. I have 4 kids, a noisy house but i am still lonely. I also have a great husband.

Does anyone else deal with this kind of thing? I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you.

Caitie

Hi CaitieLiz80,

I know we spoke on your other thread but saw you posted this one as well, I also saw that blondguy (Paul) gave some awesome advice as per usual, he has a lot of experience in this and is very valued on these forums. I haven't had medication as such but I do know it takes quite a while for them to fully kick in. The counselling is really important as well.

Do you have anything in place to deal with the loneliness and restlessness, meditation may be an option for you, something to really calm you down before bed and put your mind at ease?

My best for you,

Jay
