Hi 4321

If I can quote a part of Geoff's post: "Depression will take away any enthusiasm that you had once before"

You will have everything to gain and nothing to lose with a visit to your GP. Living opposite the beach is a huge bonus but when you are this flat and demotivated having a chat to your doc would be an excellent first move

Sometimes having too much time on our hands can make our life difficult as our thoughts can be our worst enemy

you are not alone here 4321

I hope you can let us know how you are going

kind thoughts

I'm struggling with everyday life at the moment.

When I'm at work I'm ok but I work casually so have a lot of fee time.

the last few months if I'm not working all I do is pull the blinds and sleep. I have no motivation to do anything or go anywhere. I live opposite the beach so I know I should be there everyday but I just can't be bothered.

any tips of overcoming a lack of motivation and wanting to sleep???

thank you😀

hello 4321, work can often take your mind off your depression, but then there are times when going to work is a hassle, because this illness is too strong and will prevent you from doing so.
Depression will take away any enthusiasm that you had once before, and sleeping is a prerequisite when you have this particular illness and it is unavoidable.
The first thing you must try to do is visit your doctor and if that seems to be an enormous effort then ask someone to go with you, but perhaps before you go you could google K-10 test, which will give you a score about how you feel, but can I suggest that you do it a few times, I say this because if you do have depression then your mood will change differently during the day.
Take the results with you when you see your doctor so then they will get the ball rolling for the help you need.
You could also ask them about the 'mental health plan' which entitles you to 10 free visits to see a psychologist. Geoff.

Thank you both for your replies and advice.

I have been diagnosed with depression and am taking medication already. Things were going well but now I feel like I have gone backwards and at her than forwards!

I live in a remote town so seeing a Dr or Counsellor involves driving 500km.

I feel if I can just find my motivation again I might be right!!!
