hey guys, I'm new. My name is Dan and im 27, i have been suffering with deppression and anxiety for a long time. i just hate my life at the moment.

Recently i got rear ended by a car so my car was at the repair shop.I got a rental car and accidently crashed it cause im a pizza delivery driver. the rental car company is going to charge me $3000 and i just cant afford it. Wtf is the point of this all? i hate myself and i keep struggling to keep going. 😞

Hi Dan,

I am glad its only your car /cars that were visually damaged.

Did the rental car company explain the excess prior to pick up of the car? I assuming you did not obtain a loan car from crash repairer?

If you have to pay the $3K can you ask for instalments at a level you can afford?

Do you have someone you can speak with in regard to your struggles, if not call beyond blue on 1300224636 24/7 and speak to someone to assist in guiding you in the right direction.

Welcome to the forums...I am sorry to hear about the rental car..what a pain!

I have depression and anxiety too Dan and something like this would really bug me..Arent rental cars covered by insurance? $3000 is a big slug.

If you have a good doc...maybe a really good vent would help?

hi Dan, when you sign the agreement form to hire a car there is an insurance policy included, but perhaps the excess for someone under the age of 30 is high which we never take into account, because all we want is a car and nothing else matters.
I wonder if you approach your own insurance company where they might pay for having another car while yours is being repaired.
If you do have to pay this amount then I would offer them $20 or $30 a month to pay off because that's all you can afford and because they are a big company or their insurance company is enormous they may accept this.
My son hit a mercedes benz a long time ago and is paying them off at $20 a month or something like that but it's a very small amount because at that time he couldn't afford anything more.
They keep asking him to pay to whole amount but he doesn't because at that amount who would just to please an insurance company.

hey cheers thanks for the help guys, it ended up being a lot cheaper, only had to pay $910. So i am thankful for that.

Anyways, a bit of an update on my life, so cause of my deppression i have kind of socially isolated myself from people. I did have one friend she also suffers from deppression. So one night i was really drunk and i said some stuff that offended her and we stopped the friendship there. Now im just stuck in self loathing.
