topic zero motivation to move farward in Depression

I am 28 years old, I am a single mother who is studying
nursing full time at uni (1.5 years to go). I lost my job before Christmas due
to funding cuts and I am at the point where I have been selling things to buy
food. I cannot apply for part time work because I am always on and off working
at the hospital for my work placement. My availability is always up and down.
My family don’t support me and I am constantly having to beg for help from
people to just drop my son off to school so I can get to the hospital on time. I
have a knee injury which prevents me from doing a lot of exercise so now I just
‘walk’ because I can’t afford to see a physiotherapist.

I have depression (lack of exercise further contributes to
this). Walking takes up a lot of what precious little time I have though so it’s
not the most practical. I have been
brought up in a dysfunctional family where my parents were junkies and I was
physically, sexually and emotionally abused. I am always trying to make my life
simpler and less stressful (I eat healthy and look after myself and my sleep
habits) but there is always shit that comes up and knocks me down again. I have
made an appointment to see a psych, I have had one session so far which is
organised through uni. I am really tired
of ‘fighting’ to get somewhere in life. I am just so sick of always struggling
and trying to be strong.

dear Kylie, after I had read your post I do feel as though you are trying to establish yourself in life with your son
while studying and trying to work after such an awful childhood upbringing, so you do need to be congratulated even though
at the <G data-gr-id="31" id="31" class="gr_ gr_31 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep">moment</G> it's a struggle for you and you might not feel as though you are achieving anything, but in time it will all
pay off, <G data-gr-id="29" id="29" class="gr_ gr_29 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep">however</G> this isn't addressing your comment.
I see that you have made an appointment with a psych, but did you realise that a doctor could put on a 'mental health
plan' which would entitle you to 10 free visits to your psych and this can be done every year, however if your doctor
feels as though you need either urgent assistance or a few more <G data-gr-id="24" id="24" class="gr_ gr_24 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace">consulations</G> with the psych then I believe this could
be done under certain circumstances.
One session with your psych is certainly not enough to help you through, sure there maybe some superficial concerns
that you could talk about, but it's those really deep thoughts that need continued attention.
Depression breeds contempt because as soon as something starts to affect you then everything else jumps on board, so one
<G data-gr-id="23" id="23" class="gr_ gr_23 gr-alert gr_gramm Grammar multiReplace">problem</G> becomes another problem, so we link them all together.
I hope that you can get back to us. Geoff. x
