I am such a tool ... I've just re-read your post and you weren't after suggestions really. You were after ways to challenge your mind or focus your energies for particular things, yeah?

Oh my goodness, what silliness I'm capable of sometimes.

I think first of all, just be grateful that you don't have to live with my mind 24/7 ! That's a huge bonus for everyone out there.

On second thought, you said that you need to use so much energy to start and remained focussed. Perhaps it "could" be the things that you're doing, in that they're becoming a bit routine for you ... and you may need something "new and exciting" to stimulate the senses. If so, then forget about this post and simply read the previous posts from myself and Katy. 🙂

And no, it's only 9:57am where I am, and so no, I am not on the drink (just water thank you.) 🙂

Cheers

Neil

How about trying jewellery making? It's easy, creative, repetetive (at times, but that can be soothing). You can start it up, then have a break. You do need to spend some money on buying the necessities, but I can help you with advice on that.

Hi iamsotired

Wow, what an interesting response from Katy. I would never have thought about anything like that ... way to go.

I'm sorry but I'm not much for these kinds of things, but I will try: are you much of a reader? I do try to read each day ... I have certain authors I like and so get into a book which I find being a good diversion. I actually read when walking to work ... it's a 25 min walk from where I park my car and so with book in hand I read away. Swatting at flies at certain stages of the walk as well.

I've heard that someone where I used to work, really enjoyed scrapbooking - I don't really know all that much about it, but I guess it might work for some people and others perhaps not.

Art/drawing - are they anything that might strike an accord with you?

Or simply writing down your thoughts ... or should I say, type them up. Can be a good reliever at times when you feel so pent up; to just open up a word document and type away. Save it also, so you can go back to it and add more things. Also if you do this, make sure to date it as well. Maybe you'll want to read it again, maybe you won't ... that's totally up to you.

Anyway, if you do get into the jewellery thing, I'd be interested to hear what you think about it?

Cheers

Neil
