topic too scared in Anxiety

Talking to a counsellor was one of the best things I have ever done. I recommend it to everyone! My first couple of sessions I hardly said a thing, the next few all I did was cry and now 6 years later, I still see a therapist and I talk about anything and everything. Once you start talking you realise where the anxiety comes from and why, you also learn coping mechanisms so you can control it.

Don't be frightened! Go see a doctor and get a referral, its totally worth it.

too scared

Every month or so I seem to be getting worse and worse, and I'm really worried my schooling is going to be affected by it all. Every time I talk myself into going to talk to someone, I then get too scared and back out.

What should I do?

Hi Shan

I totally agree with Mel - you need to let it out, talk to someone. The first few sessions are always hard but once you start to talk you won't look back. I remember clearly my very first pysch session 4 yrs ago but now I talk to my pysch about everything and anything.

Pls take the first step, see your GP for a referral

Good luck, let us know how you go
