Hi all

i have struggled with anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember but now it's so severe I don't know what to do with myself. Does anyone have any tips or can tell me how they cope having anxiety and depression in everyday life? I struggle with finding motivation to do tasks, daily chores, finding things to do day after day as I am home a lot. I am currently unemployed (due to anxiety) trying to find a job but struggling and don't know how I'm ever going to be able to work but I need to.

I am on medication daily and see psychologist once a month. It feels like I'm constantly stuck in my own mind and so many thoughts all the time which stops me from talking and communicating with others a lot 😞 ahhh can anyone relate ?

Hey Annebear,

I can definitely relate, your situation sounds allot like mine. I have good and bad days. I am just trying to work towards being able to function again. I found that Acceptance Commitment Therapy has helped settle down the anxiety I get from over thinking.

Have you thought about joining a social anxiety group. I have noticed that there are a few university research departments that run these sessions, I think they are free.

Anyway you are definitely not alone.

Thankyou for your reply.

I have thought about it but at this stage the anxiety before going to a group would be unbearable and I know I should get out of my comfort zone but yeah.. Silly anxiety 😞

Is it possible to increase the frequency of your psychologist appointment? Sometimes even a different approach might be more affective? My boyfriend was doing CBT and then went to a psychologist who specialised in ACT, he personally found that ACT was more affective for him.

By the way I don't think I would be able to cope with group therapy at the moment but I think it probably seams allot more scary than it actually might be.

anyway hope you are feeling a bit better 🙂
