Hello, some months back I posted how I didn’t want my anxiety to get worse because I was having symptoms like chest pain, headaches, blurry visions, back pains etc. And how I’ve had an ECG and heart Blood Test done and all came back fine. Well, I started by embarking on my a research. I started reading on ways to keep my heart healthy and to relieve my anxiety.
Please, before I continue. I don’t really know the particular food or exercise that started to reduce my symptoms. I’d like to think it’s a combination of everything.
So during my research, i watched some videos and they mentioned “Dates”, so I started eating it, two per day. I started walking more because I heard walking helps reduce the likelihood of heart attacks and other cardiac events. I walk about 1 hour every day, about 5 to 6km competed every hour. Then I came across some article on the wonders of beetroots and how it helps to relieve blood pressure by relaxing your nerves, I started eating it and then started to eat at least 2 cloves of garlic a day, I read that it relaxes the hearts nerves. I mostly eat them at night. Also, at night, i make sure I eat at least one citrus fruit like orange or mandarin. I drink lemon water every 2nd day. Also, I added an apple, pear, kiwi , and some spinach to my nightly snacks and a cup of green tea. All these I heard are good for the heart. I now have strawberries, blueberries, almond and cashew nuts added to my morning cereal, added Mindfulness to my exercises. And for about 3 weeks now, I haven’t had any of those symptoms except for heart palpitations. I have also increased the number of my sleeping hours from 4 to about 5-6 every night. I used to be scared of sleeping cos I always feel like I’m going to die of a heart attack in my sleep. Also, thanks to the new ECG feature on the Apple Watch, I now check mine at least once a day. I keep track of my heart rates.

And all of these helped in reducing my anxiety. Fingers crossed that soon, the heart palpitations would be gone.

I hope this helps someone else.

Hi Gerryboy

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I’ve found it very interesting to read.

And I’m super impressed that you’ve taken a proactive approach.

Even just the feeling of taking action, and trying something, helps alleviate my anxiety because it brings back a feeling of control. And shifts focus away from feeling helpless.

I have started walking every day to help with fitness and mental health. Will see how it goes.

Thank you again,

Hi Gerryboy90

You're such an inspiration. You've given me the wake up call I needed in regard to loving my heart more. I've actually been a little cruel and thoughtless towards it over the years, based on some pretty questionable habits. I've never considered loving my heart until your post. So, thank you again.

I do believe 2 of the most incredible super natural abilities we're born with are wonder and imagination. They kinda get a little lost along the way if we're not careful. If lost, once you bring them back to life, things become pretty mind altering and life changing. You did a lot of wondering and research, on your quest of imagining all the ways that might work regarding mental and physical self care. I'm so glad your wonder and imagination have come to serve you so well. You deserve your results, given all your hard work. My wish for you is that your life continues to unfold in incredible and liberating ways.

I will suggest that your open minded devotion to wondering has made you more wonderful (wonder full) and your devotion to stretching/exercising your imagination has made you an inspiring visionary. I hope you continue to enjoy the energy that wonder and imagination gift to you.

Again, thanks for the inspiration.

🙂
