hi everyone, I have suffered thought high school with generalised anxiety and it is hard for me to cope sometimes with everyday life. I have just entered collage and am half way through year 11, ive been feeling anxious, stressed and really overwhelmed with the people, my friends and the school work as its coming up to exams. How I fell anxiety is I get sweaty hands, sometimes I even see white in my vision or it goes blurry occasionally ill get dizzy when im walking around somewhere alone and even sometimes get. slight ringing in my ears. My feet often get hot and I start to sweat, my heart races no matter what im doing because I am constantly on high alert in every situation therefore I find it hard at school and im just a young girl who's got her life ahead of her and is battling with these situations. I fear I hide it very well around my friends and family but I found this beyond blue as a save space to talk about my feelings instead of going somewhere and I hope some of you can relate to y situation and remember you are not alone in this and there are many people going through the same or even similar situations. Thanks for reading my story on how I feel anxiety.

Hi there,

I'm so glad to hear you find this to be a safe space and thank you for opening up!

I relate to your description of anxiety, especially with school work-that's how I felt in year 11. It can be easy to mask it in front of friends and family, yes, but I have realised over time that telling someone how you feel can take the weight off. I do recommend you also speak to someone you trust in your life if you feel comfortable and see how it goes. Of course, you are more than welcome to keep chatting on here, it really helps.

I also wanted to leave the BeyondBlue number here in case you want to call 1300 22 4636 to chat to a counsellor.

https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/talk-to-a-counsellor

You're absolutely right, we're not alone in this. Many people have similar stories and struggles and that's ok. It's ok not to be ok right now. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hope things get a little better for you 😊

Kind regards,

PsychDiaries
