The warmest of welcomes to you 🙂

Personally, I've found 3am is one of the worst times when depressed or anxious yet one of the best times when not in a depression or not anxious/stressed, for it's the time when things easily come to mind without distraction. When dealing with my inner critic when it's most brutal, 3am is like a time of torture. On the other hand, if looking to tap into my inner sage, the amount of inspiration that comes in (without distractions getting in the way) is incredible. Mindset can determine what 3am feels like. If you're someone who's a serious 'feeler', you'll feel what 3am means to you at any given time.

I'm wondering whether the feeling you're experiencing, that alone feeling, is pushing you to make connections. This is exactly what you've managed to do by coming here. You've listened to your feelings and made that connection. Not always easy to get a sense of what our feelings are calling us to do, especially when old familiar feelings are coming to us on a whole new challenging level (as though the volume dial has been turned way up on them). Sounds a bit strange but sometimes our feelings can be almost deafening in a way.

Same. Depression apparently causes this.

What kind of thoughts are bothering you when you are unable to sleep?

Hello, I also wake up at 3am every night. Its very, very common. Back in the 19th century people slept in two sessions a night. They went to bed, woke up at a later time and got up for a little while then went back to sleep again. I think this is probably the best way to sleep . Please come back to the forum if you want to talk more, we ere listening to you.

Hey there, I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling alone.

Do you know why you're waking up at 3am? Is your sleep poor before that? How quickly do you fall asleep at night?

If you're struggling to sleep or struggling to get back to sleep at all, doing something soothing like reading, journaling, drawing, or hugging a pillow can be super helpful. Otherwise, if you're struggling with those feelings of loneliness, there may be other things you can do. Feel free to keep chatting with us if you'd like, and we'll help as best as we can.

SB
