Boss is trying to get rid of me

I've got a boss who is trying to get rid of me. I'm an apprentice 4th year. In my first 3 years I never had any issues other then some criticism which is fine. But I had just started my 4th year and my boss as been given me two written warnings in 2 weeks and I've never been rude to my boss and always polite and my warnings have been for poor reasons. He's said hurtful things to me and abused me on the phone if I do something he doesn't like. I never bite back at all and say okay I'm sorry and he still keeps swearing at me. I get bad anxiety now and going to work makes me feel sick, especially now I know he wants me gone. I feel myself getting depressed due to this situation.. I'm at a dead end right now and needed to let it all out. Some advice would be awesome. Thank you 😊

I'm sorry to hear about your situation with your boss. It sounds like you're going through a difficult time at work, and it's important to remember that you don't deserve to be treated this way. One suggestion might be to document everything - keeping a record of the incidents, including dates, times, and what was said or done.

Is there anyone you can speak to about this? Family or friends? Someone who can give you advice on how you can move forward?

I can understand the language used at workplaces can vary, yet I (personally) don't think that swearing is a good practice in situations like this. Remember that you deserve to be treated with respect and dignity at work.

I can tell it must be very hard for you.

Australia has strict laws and regulations protecting employees. If your boss want to terminate your employment, he needs to have fair reason, fair process, and proceed in a respectful way. Looks like he made all the mistakes.

If you want to protect yourself actively, you may consult a lawyer, if you do some online research you'll find there're resources available. There should be some free legal support in your community, there are also commercial lawyers including no-win-no-fee lawyers.

Hi Benny

I can relate to you about this situation.

I did my apprenticeship back in 1985 and all was going well until my elderly boss passed away while I was in my 3rd year of my training.

The bosses 2 sons took over and were unnecessarily rude and mean to me everyday.

I worked as hard as I could, and just

like you, I never said a word, fought back or showed any negative emotion towards them.

I set my sights on finishing my apprenticeship, holding my head up high and being a better person than them.

I finished my apprenticeship, even though it was difficult, and left the company and never saw them again.

I wonder if you have the option to speak with your boss and ask why his attitude has changed towards you!

Hello Benny_21, I'm sorry this has been happening, but sometimes when people are on an apprenticeship as they end the period required to finish this apprenticeship they are normally hassled and forced to leave.

There is nothing you have done that is wrong, it's just that they don't want to have to pay the full rate, once you are qualified.

Do you think may be happening.
