Hi.

I partly mentioned the light sensitivity because I felt my thread was too short. It is a problem, but not the main problem. It still is concerning though.

Believe it or not, my physical symptoms restrict me from talking that much, because it’s that bad. It’s like I’m stuck in a huge anxiety attack. The other part of me is in disbelief that is anxiety and is convinced it is a health problem. How can it produce such torturous symptoms?

I do want to talk to people, mainly make new friends. I want to talk to someone that is experiencing this. I feel alone. There’s no way I’m alone.

Hello all,
I’m experiencing severe breathlessness following an anxiety attack in the middle of the night 10 months ago. I feel this way all day, basically 24/7 and it does not go away no matter what I do. I don’t know why this happened. Im afraid certain substances have contributed to this, but I am unsure. I have not felt like myself since then. A lot of people say it is hyperventilation syndrome. I am worried I have a serious health problem. Another problem I been having is some sort of light sensitivity, after sitting outside mainly, my vision will go red and things will be flashing. I did not have this before. Sometimes have smoky vision.
Anyone experiencing this?

Hi and welcome to the forums.

If you mean that you sigh a lot then yes. Otherwise no

I'd imagine this would be really upsetting for you. Anxiety and stress can be associated with light sensitivity. Of course I am not an expert and would suggest you have a chat with your GP.

Do you have anyone that you can talk to about your thoughts and feelings?

Hi Jxws,

I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through at the moment. Physical symptoms of anxiety can be really tricky to handle. I don't think I completely get what you have, but my anxiety balls up in my chest and causes it to feel like there is a rock sitting on my chest, which can sometimes affect my breathing.

I agree with smallwolf and reckon the best thing you can do is go talk to a GP, preferrably one who is interested in mental health too.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t really know how much better to describe my symptoms than I did. I’ve seen my GP for 10 months now and I’ve had multiple tests done. I don’t feel that he wants to deal with me anymore and it’s always the same conversation. I am thinking of seeing another doctor. I just don’t have the energy to go through all this again.

Hi Jxws, sorry for the late response here!

I think seeing another doctor is a great idea. There is no harm in getting a second opinion.
