topic Home alone, no work, no friends in Anxiety

About a month ago I made the decision to leave my workplace due to being unable to find the energy to get up in the morning let alone go to work. I was in a workplace that wasn't suitable mine or bubs needs.

It's been a few weeks and I am unable to get out of beds until 12pm and then just go straight to bed at 3-5pm for another nap. I know it's partly because I am pregnant and I'm growing a little human inside of me but I do have a diagnosed depression and anxiety and have been off my meds since I found out I was pregnant due to having risks taking them of deforming bub. So basically my routine is sleep, eat and sleep with very little fresh air as I struggle to be able to get myself out of the house also.

My question to everyone is; does anyone have anything they tried to get them out of bed or out of the house? Are there any people that have been in the same boat as me and have found ways to improve their ways naturally? I don't want to go on meds again if I can help it and the Phsychologist can't do much as he can't just get me out of bed in the morning.

I feel useless, I can't work and now I don't even know what I will do when bub arrives and he's old enough to go to kindy. I feel so lost...

Angie

Welcome to the forum.being pregnant is very draining and tiring.

if you can get out of the house and try to walk to end of street and then a little bit longer each day. Do you have some one you can walk with. If you have a garden you can work around the garden,.

Have you had your iron tested.

Have you felt tired since going off your medications.

You are eating a balance healthy diet.

sorry for the questions I am pleased you are concerned for baby.

Hello,

My tips for getting out of bed and out of the house.... write a list the night before of all the things you want to accomplish the next day.... including getting out of the house as one of those things... sit down at a cafe and have a cup of coffee...

as you do each thing on that list cross it off.... the more accomplished you are from the list the better you will feel 😊

Hi Angie, the situation you are in, is always a sad one, but hopefully we can help break this cycle, which could be 1 step back and 2 steps forward, that's progress we want.

Try not to anticipate what may happen once the baby is born, because we hope that you will have your strength back by then.

What may happen is once you wake up your mind starts to wonder and intrusive thoughts begin, instead cuddle a kitten or a puppy and focus your attention on them, the affection they show you and not what's stopping you from getting up.

Talk with a child health nurse on the phone 1800 882 436 or via video call and form a connection, this is 7 days a week, or type this in your search bar 'help for pregnant women in Australia'.

Nurse on call 1300 60 60 24 from anywhere in Victoria for free health advice, 24 hours a day but they will provide phone numbers for other States.

Talk to us and anybody else we want to help you through this.

Geoff.
