New anxiety

Hello Jon o

Welcome and good on you for having the courage to post too!

I understand what you are going through and it can be an awful feeling to have (when our chest tightens up) as I started having the same feeling when I was in my early 20's

I started having this moderate anxiety in the early 1980's. I thought I could self heal and that was a mistake. I always exercised and ate well at the time. I didnt seek counseling straight away...which only made my symptoms become worse..unfortunately

Sure, the reasons why are interesting yet treating moderate anxiety in the early stages is crucial to enable an effective recovery. Can I ask when you were diagnosed with moderate anxiety? (if thats okay)

Just from my own experience...

GP visit(s)....asap as they have greater knowledge re anxiety now compared to the early 1980's

The earlier anxiety is treated the better our recovery

Sleep is an excellent healer.....try to get a minimum of 7 hours/night

Avoid PC's/Cell Phones/Visual stimulation at least an hour before going to bed to establish calm

Having a reasonably peaceful home environment is always a bonus...(if possible of course)

Avoid angry or toxic people as they only leave us stressed and prone to any level of anxiety

above all....please be gentle to yourself

any questions are welcome Jon o!

my kind thoughts

Paul
