Hi LimeGreenTea,
Thank you for taking such a brave step in sharing this with
us. It takes a lot of courage to be so open and honest with your feelings, and
we are so glad that you have reached out here. I hope these forums will be
helpful for you to share and receive support from others who may be experiencing,
or have experienced something similar.
What I’m hearing is that you’ve been experiencing a lot of
anxiety recently, which is leading you to feel quite worried about some specific
things. You’re concerned that people won’t take these worries seriously, which
is making you doubt your anxiety and the possibility to receive treatment to
feel better. Is this right?
It sounds like these thoughts and feelings have been quite overwhelming
for you, and I’m sorry that you’re in such a tough situation right now. Please
know that you’re not alone in this and that we are here to work through this
difficult time with you. I was wondering if you have discussed your concerns
about your anxiety and treatment with your psychiatrist? To help us better
understand your situation, would you feel comfortable in sharing when you
started experiencing these worries? Or what was happening in your life when
these worries began?
You mentioned that your worries are “odd” so you feel silly
when you have to explain them to others. Anxiety can come in all shapes and
forms, and I want to acknowledge that your worries and experiences are valid. Please
know that this is a safe and supportive space to talk through your thoughts and
feelings. No worry is ever silly, and we’re here to help you without any judgement.
Thank you for trusting us to listen to you, and please do
keep checking in with us here and updating us whenever you feel like it. We are
here to give you as much support, advice and conversation as you need.

Hi!

Recently I've been dealing with some pretty severe anxiety, which has led me to begin worrying about some things. However the things I've worried about are, well... Odd. I don't want to go into specifics because (as said by the title) I feel really silly whenever I have to explain them to someone (I try to avoid explaining unless it's someone like my psychiatrist). This combined with worrying about only a couple of things has led me to believe that maybe I don't even have something like generalized anxiety disorder, that maybe I'm impossible to treat as I don't actually have a problem. I suppose I wrote this as I've been feeling pretty hopeless recently and I wonder if there was anyone else who maybe has dealt with something similar.

Hi, welcome

Yes, I was a chronic worrier in fact nicknamed “the worrier” at 13yo by a teacher.

Over the years the anxiety grew and 1987 at 31yo it came to a climax. Since then I’ve been proactive with finding peace from it all. I’m now anxiety and worry free.

This forum is an advantage in that between your psych visits you can increase your overall knowledge from reading on other people’s experiences.

please put these topics in the search bar at the top of the page-

worry worry worry

anxiety how I eliminated it

Reply anytime
