It's not the hobby itself, it is the people surrounding you causing the stress and anxiety. It's no good for your soul. I only suggest to move on to a more positive group or alone to no longer have the stress and anxiety you are now confronted with. Basically it's a toxic environment with toxic behaviours and one that is completely opposite to who you are. Good luck.

Hello there,

at the moment I’m pursuing a hobby that for many years has brought me many moments of happiness and continuous satisfaction. However, just recently this hobby has been the one thing that has overwhelmingly caused me so many dilemmas and furthermore problematic situations. Started this hobby from a really young age so it has
been an enormous part of my youth.
recently this place has been such a hateful and negative environment. People at this particular place want control, desire manipulation and have a large admiration for POWER.
I love what I do. Because I am fully involved and passionate about it.
however why is the one thing that I have done for so many years now the one thing that has affected me so greatly with stress and more anxiety?

signed,

hi PsychedelicFur,

You did not give much away about this hobby, so I will tell you my little story...

I would play MMOs. I never really got into the addicted territory, but nearly did as i was playing when I should have been working. I used to play these games as a way of dealing with work pressures. At the same time as playing these games you would talk with people from other places in the world, and would also find out how much time and money others invested in these games. The reason I gout out of these games was that I got sick of the treadmill of kill, collect and get reward, then rinse and repeat.

Anyway, I would be interested in hearing your story... what draws you into this hobby? do you want to stop?

Lastly, and assuming that you did stop, there would be something missing from your life that would have to be replaced somehow.

Listening to you,
