topic Panic attacks + inflammation in Anxiety

I've been having panic attacks a couple times a week every week this year. I've recently started on medication for anxiety again however lately I've been getting bad joint pain and inflammation. My doctor told me this is due to the stress I was just wondering if anyone else had this and was able to get rid of the joint pain once they got their stress under control?

Hi Samsonsam,

Joint pain is the worst! Certainly stress can cause this to be even more of a factor than it normally would be.

Unless their is an underlying condition, the best treatment for joint pain (believe it or not) is to move! Not moving makes the condition worse - even chronic - and can make it even harder to get moving again.

Exercise is a hugely important part of our wellbeing, especially when we are also managing a mental health injury. As far as possible, keep moving. Check with your doctor to see whether you can take an anti-inflammatory to assist with the joint discomfort. This may assist with the joint pain, which will assist with your ability to move more, which will assist with your overall sense of wellbeing!
