Hi cuddlybear,
I live in a rural town and I grew up here so I understand that feeling. Often we have to travel further to seek support.

There are no support groups for anxiety in my area so we may need to drive up to an hour, which makes me feel guilty for 'wasting fuel'

I know it may not seem like much, but these forums can be a great way to connect and feel like you're part of a community, I've been using them for about a week and already I feel less alone. So please keep posting!

Don't give up trying, keeping push - his is definitely easier said than done!

Good luck, hope this helped!

Being in a small community with an mental illness can be a struggle, I have trouble fitting in and can't make new friends. I am a person that will always try to better themselves regardless of the barriers, but it seems that I fail every time I give something a go. I have always struggled with keeping a job and maintaining my well being. It also feels like that there is no one that I can truly rely to help me through tough times, not even family. I tend to isolate myself, I find it helps me gain some perspective but it doesn't always work. I feel alone and am about to give up trying anymore, once again. It is hard when you don't feel accepted to achieve what you want to achieve.

Hi Cuddlybear

Welcome to the BB forums. You will find acceptance here and support. I am sorry to hear you don’t have anyone to rely on and help you through rough times. Do you have a good GP? I have found that makes all the difference so it would be worth finding one if you don’t already have one. Some GP’s have a particular interest in mental health issues which is invaluable.

I have only joined the forums about a month ago and have found them to be very informative, respectful and supportive. Take care
