    <description>Hi, I am new here and would really like some  guidance. 
&lt;BR /&gt;A bit of background. ANXIETY is at an all time high. I am.struggling with trying to find the positives in life.
&lt;BR /&gt;I am anxious, I over think absolutely everything and with that I tend to want to curl into a ball and just switch off.
&lt;BR /&gt;I need to get out of this rut of feeling lonely and worthless.
&lt;BR /&gt;Hoping for some.guidance.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi MT and welcome to the forum family.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I'm glad you posted for support. Anxiety and overthinking can be difficult to manage at any time... All the current changes thanks to Coronavirus just seem to make it even harder to cope. This a good place to reach out for understanding. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You gave us all a bit of background about yourself but not much about what you have tried previously to manage your anxiety. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;For me at least... it always feels &lt;SPAN style="font-size: inherit;"&gt;hard to know where to begin to try offer support to you. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: inherit;"&gt;There are important questions to ask (like whether you have medical support or take any medication to manage anxiety). I could recommend searching the anxiety section of this forum because there are some excellent threads where people have shared self help ideas and what has worked for them. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: inherit;"&gt;But it makes me feel like I'm fobbing you off. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size: inherit;"&gt;I suppose I'm trying to ask whether you feel able to talk about what has worked for &lt;STRONG&gt;you&lt;/STRONG&gt; in the past and what you have tried already?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Hope you keep joining in here. The forums have helped me a lot and hopefully they can help you too. &lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi MT23611, &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;As someone who has a LOT of experience in overthinking, I understand where you're coming from. I think strategies that are going to help you are very individualistic. The things that have worked for me include mainly around pouring myself into distractions like work, watching tv, music, reading, talking to a friend etc. All of which may or may not work for you which is completely fair enough. Everyone's different and copes with things differently. After distracting myself, I then tend to look at what the root of the thought was by journalling or as odd as it may sound, I often find even talking to myself out loud helps a lot in clarify what I'm actually thinking as the thoughts become more tangible rather than stuck in my head. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I hope something in this is able to help, I'm sorry if not and I hope everything turns out okay. Keep reaching out.&lt;/P&gt;
