Hello all, im a newby here and wanted to share my situation and to see if anybody here can share some tips. Have suffered from anxiety/hipocondria for many years but this time is really hard. I did brain mri and its all fine thank god. My neck c3 and c4 have annulus tear, disc protrusion and flattening of the right hemicord with potential root impingmement. Also my c5 c6 and c7 have small disc bulging and protrusions. I also have hypoplasia of the right transverse and sigmoid sinus as well as right maxiallry mucosal changes...so all in all lots going on but my neurologist believes the balance issue is in my head. My gp thinks the same. Im sometimes ok but then sometimes i simply am scared to walk. I have never fallen or anything like that but i always feel like im on the boat. I really dont know what else to do to help my situation. Anybody here that could share some tips pls? Thank you

Hi Sanja04

Just want to start by saying how much I love wonderful people, like yourself. When someone wonders beyond what they're told by specialists, it's typically a sign they won't settle for what they've been told.

I believe it can't hurt to get a second opinion, maybe from someone who specialises specifically in spinal behaviour and problems. You could be onto something with your wondering, regarding the balance issues. With the spinal cord acting as a super highway of information (with all its nerve root off ramps), I imagine you're wondering whether the balance issue is a result of a disruption on that highway. Kind of like your brain can't quite receive the right messages from your legs or feet and can't send the right messages back.

While the neurologist and GP may be spot on with your issue, it still can't hurt to wonder and further investigate. If the balance issue turned out to be what you imagine (a result of disruption), you could then imagine the education you could give them.

🙂

Hello theraising

Thank you for reaching out and for your wonderful words. Yes i feel so lost...its like nobody is listening but my brain tells me they are wrong. Im just stuck as my gp is so determined that nothing is wrong so he is very hesitant to send me to another neurologist "not to waste my money".

thank you so much

Hi Sanja04

Is your brain telling you they're wrong or is your instincts. Sometimes it pays to trust you instincts.

Personally, I've been seeing a brilliant chiropractor over the years, on and off, an it's always an amazing education with him. It's incredible the amount of systems that are tied into the spine/spinal cord. Can't hurt to say 'Whatever it costs, I'm willing to pay for an answer'. If you deeply feel the need to keep searching beyond what you've been told, don't settle. I've managed to challenge GPs in the past and it's payed off here and there.
