Hello AnxietyHelp

Thankyou for posting a valid/important thread on the forums.

Firstly...can I apologize for the delay in you receiving a response,we are usually quick in getting back to people

I understand you as I have had anxiety since I was 23 (and now under management) Can I ask if your son has been diagnosed with anxiety? I think you are a responsible parent for trying all the available avenues and kudos to you AH

Clinical anxiety is usually diagnosed from approx 16 to 26 in most cases. I am not sure what you mean by 'normalising' your sons feelings. I am guessing that your son is a teenager and is having some problems with anxiety as you mentioned. Depending on how old he is.....can I ask if he is shy?......(like I was all the way through school)

The forums are a safe and non judgemental place for you to post AH. If you wish to elaborate you are more than welcome as his approximate age will help us help you more effectively 🙂

The good news....anxiety symptoms (if a person has been diagnosed) can be reduced with regular therapy

I understand and respect your situation AH

There are many gentle people on the forums that can be here for you. I really hope you can post back with any queries you may have

My kind thoughts

My child has suffered with anxiety since he was a small child and needs to be around other children with the same special talent. I think that this will help in normalising his feelings . I have done so many programs , seen doctors, tried other social groups but he cant seem to relate and this leaves him feeling angry and frustrated. He wants to have friends and socialise but the ones he is introduced to, he does not want to be around . It would be great if someone could please lead me into the right direction as I am running out of ideas .
