Hello Kyliec36's

Yes, it is surprising how many thoughts one can have in a single day! There are many things you can do to help settle your thinking down. Tony WK has given you some great sites to look at.

If you like I can run you through some things to try and help slow your mind down a little.

When my mind is racing, my heart is pounding too. So I:

start to breath deeply into my diaphragm. Usually, I breath in for 4 (or more) and out for 4 (or more). Focussing on my breath as it goes in through my nose, into my lungs then down to my diaphragm. Then focus on it going out slowly through my mouth. I keep doing this breathing for as long as it takes - to stop my pounding heart and to slow down my brain/mind.

listen to relaxing music while doing my breathing. At times I do yoga sitting or standing poses too.

Other things I do to help me reduce my overactive mind is to -

get regular exercise

talk with someone about what is troubling me

eat healthy foods (limit caffeine, alcohol)

go to a GP and psychologist on a regular basis - to help me manage my mental health

Kind regards

PamelaR
