Hi Anita,

I have seen some of your older posts that also deal with anxiety at work. I'm sorry you haven't yet been able to reduce this anxiety.

Returning to work after time off can make work anxiety so much bigger! I am due to return to work soon from Maternity Leave and even though it is still a three weeks away I panic about it at least once a day! I hate the thought of going back there, but I know that after a week it will feel like I never left and my anxiety will reduce.

Psychologists can help, but I have found it really depends on whether I click with the psychologist and also the type of therapy they are committed too. I found that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) really works better for me than Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is different for everyone.

Have you tried medication? I know a lot of people are reluctant to go on anti-depressants, but they can really make a big difference, especially for long term issues.

Kind thoughts, Jess

Hi everyone so I really hope someone can understand what I am going through but I am in full panic mode now and need to vent. I’ll explain first off by I panic every day When going to work I feel like I am “ in danger” every time I go and everyone I talk to I get anxiety with anyway I’ve had a few weeks off work as the company closes for Xmas period and it’s coming up to the time I have to go back and I am having anxiety attacks and cannot relax for a minute. I’ve had no support and just keep pushing myself to go but I’m at wits end. I don’t know how long I can continue. This happens at every job too. I’ve had to move out of home because of how toxic it was so I have no choice but to work. I’ve been to psychologists but they haven’t helped so far. If anyone has been in a similar situation as me please let me know what worked and helped for you to get by. Thankyou.
