So im posting here in the hopes that acknowleding these feelings is a step towards feeling better.

I hate that i feel anxious an nervous, but not liking the feeling isnt enough to make it go away. The feeling of no control over your own brain is one that doesn't sit well and just starts that vicious cycle of self criticism and doubt.

I find it hard to articulate how and why im feeling anxious, so i then start to thi nk of all these problems i 'could' have, and mayb one of them is why i feel this way, when really im not sure what the root cause of all this is.

Venting helps but i feel like such a sook and dont want to burden others with worry. Knowing so many others feel this way does help in an almost 'horrible' way, cause i wouldnt wish this on someone else.

I find writing helps and sometimes just trying to sit an breathe and reassure myself, but id love to hear how other people get themselves out of that rut.

I wish you all a hood nights sleep xo

Hi Lauren,

You sound a little confused and uncertain. Managing your anxiety must be difficult especially when you're struggling to pinpoint the root cause.

Your post struck a chord with me (even though my personal struggles lean more towards depression than anxiety) but the commonality is I also often struggle to pinpoint the reason for why I feel a certain way. So I hear you and I can empathise is what I'm trying to say...

I think it's okay and even healthy to vent. As much as you wouldn't wish the same struggles on others, I agree that it can be comforting to know others "get" where you're coming from. Feeling less alone can be a very powerful feeling.

I wonder if you have perhaps spoken to your GP about your anxiety. Apologies if I'm covering stuff you already know but I'm only asking in case you haven't as having your GP on board is generally helpful.

I think a lot of people with anxiety use grounding, breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques. I don't profess to be an expert at those techniques but that's the impression that I get from these forums. Perhaps you could look into those methods if you wish.

And feel free to pop back in again to vent, chat, etc.

Kind thoughts,

Pepper
