topic Career troubles in Anxiety

Hi Angie welcome

Great question, I might have some answers.

My daughter is a teacher. She's off work with anxiety and depression and so is her friend.

Nursing, nope.

Customer service is out as is anything with food- the best chef in the world gets complaints. Similsr jobs with timeframes

law enforcement, amboes, fire fighting all out.

So after many jobs and 15 careers I personally found my calling which was running my own investigation business. I'd been a pi as an employee in the 1980's for 5 years so knew the job well but by 1996 one had to operate your own business. Sounds harder than what it was.

The advantages, the reason it suited me was that I had no boss, made my own business decisions and as I was disciplined I was very successful.

So, you might find a career for yourself that means you work alone or limited colleague contact, utilise your skills and its something you enjoy. If the career is arduous then consider 2-3 part time jobs because 8 hours doing one task is not stimulating enough for many of us.

Hope that helps

Thankyou for your reply geoff, I have had anxiety for many years, but i do know that gambling does make it much worse, yet i cant stop. I will talk to pyschologist about it also. My jobs atm are not near gambling sites, but when i have spare time i drive to places that have gambling.
