      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi everyone, have been feeling absolutely rotten the last 6 days. I have had panic attacks/anxiety before but nothing that has lasted so long for me. It started so abruptly &amp;amp; the only symptom I have is this awful tight feeling in my throat that makes me panic like it is going to close up on me. Rediculous I know I say to myself as I leave work early to go the ER feeling like my throat is closing. Im so ashamed of how I wasted the doctor's time. He said there was absolutely no blockage and everything looked great. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Ugh... I am booking GP for mental health plan for a few sessions with a psychologist. I feel so awful has anyone else experienced this strange throat thing? Or is it just me &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":persevering_face:"&gt;😣&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Welcome to the forums and good on you for posting too!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Its not just you JJ. I have also been feeling lethargic/fatigued for the last few weeks and I thought it was just me! I know that pollen annoys my throat this time every year and after used to having severe anxiety for many years it bugs me as well.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I have a bottle of 'Chesty Cough' syrup as a plan 'B' which I havent taken but makes me feel better knowing its in the pantry/car if I need it in Springtime with the &lt;EM&gt;pollen&lt;/EM&gt; etc...(just what I do that is)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Can I ask if you get that awful common tight breathing 'anxiety' symptom?  &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You are proactive by seeing your GP and he has given you the all clear JJ. You havent wasted your GP's time at all. You are one of the smart people that have taken the time to get it checked out!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I have also noticed a few people on the forums feeling really rotten the last few days too JJ&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Firstly, welcome to the forums. Paul (blondguy) above has given some great advice as per usual. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I just wanted to add in my two cents, I have dealt with anxiety for around 10 years and many of the initial symptoms were health related, I thought I was having heart attacks and breathing issues, what you are describing sounds similar to what I have experienced before and a lot of these things for me at least, were related to my anxiety. Have you noticed any other symptoms other than the breathing one?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I think it is great you went to see a GP about it, peace of mind is always good but more important that you have realised something is not right and you are trying to fix it. Good on you.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Please, post back as much as you like, we are always happy to talk.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>Hey. You’re not alone. Most of my life I had mini anxiety attacks and then one day I had one that lasted for four days. I thought I was going to die of a heart attack. It’s great that you have the physical all clear because that’s always something that you need to get out of the way before you can work on the mental stuff (which of course leads back to the physical stuff). Vicious circle but of course I have really found these forums help. We are social creatures and empathising with others is such a calming influence</description>

&lt;P&gt;That is exactly what I am experiencing on a daily basis at the moment. its been 5 weeks of hell. Have been to the doctor, they did bloods, a throat ultrasound, sent me to an ENT specialist. Everything has come back fine. So I am putting it down to anxiety. Its probably been the scariest of all these fun anxiety symptoms as I too fear my throat is going to close up. I also have random spasms in my throat. Trying to stay positive and think positive! Just know that you are not alone. &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Wow, thats really intense hope mine doesn't last for 5 weeks.but I guess I will just have to ride it out. As I'm replying to this my throat has the tight feeling like a lump I can't swallow very scary.       <description>Hi, yes I have this sympton of feeling like my throat is closing up &amp;amp;that's what brings on the panic/breathing. I have not had a full blown panic attack thankfully but just anxiety over my throat everyday for the last almost week. I focus on it so much thatI'm subconsciously causing it I think. Feeling very upset about the whole thing, fingers crossed my GP can help me with some meds &amp;amp; a counsellor I can speak to. Thank you for the reply.</description>

&lt;P&gt;I too welcome you to the community here. Anxiety, stress, depression and all kinds of mental health issues can play havoc on our bodies. The thing it that you have had this checked out, so now you know medically you have nothing wrong physically.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Hopefully before another anxiety issue becomes too heightened, you will be able to tell yourself it is anxiety you are experiencing. It can be hard to re-wire the mind to thnk differently, it can happen.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The GP will be able to offer you some advice. I also find it beneficial to do some reading of my own.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If there is something I am concerned about, I do check it out with my Dr. There is a lot of advice on Google, best to run that past your GP.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Hopefully chatting about your episode here and realising anxiety is common to a lot of people will help you also feel less concerned and scared about your symptoms. It is great you had yourself checked out, now you can find ways to help with your anxiety.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>Thanks for the reply, and yes it is a comfort to me, tomorrow I will sort out everything I need to do to get back to my old self again as I am open to therapy &amp;amp; medicine if it will make life easy again. I always try to be as pro active as possible when it comes to my anxiety as there really is no time like the present to take the best care of ourselves &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":thumbs_up:"&gt;👍&lt;/span&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi, yes I agree the mind is a weapon &amp;amp; a gift at times.I'm doing ok a little better, still having some panics (small) &amp;amp; anxiety attacks during the day but it did ease a lot yesterday. But today is a little harder, the waves of anxiety come and go I suppose. I saw gp and she has referred me to a psychologist that I will see Thurs. Iwasn't prescribed meds yet so I guess thats good for now just the therapist appointment to get to.       <description>I went to an ENT as well and they put a little camera down my throat and of course I was given the all clear. I was convinced I had throat cancer. It was intense anxiety.</description>
