Out of interest, do you feel as though you get adequate amounts of sleep?

Hello, I don't have the answers you are looking for as I too have seem to experience the same. I have never understood it and always felt that I was the only one. I was always branded as a "grumpy" morning person, and it wasn't until recently that I have started to even realise that anxiety could be the problem. It's not just mornings for me but mornings are definately the worst. Although I cannot help you find the answers I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

Hi there,

Many people actually find their anxiety is worse at night; this was the case for me several years ago. It's great that you are getting to sleep alright at night. Perhaps you are overwhelmed by what each new day brings: the responsibilities, tasks, chores, social interactions, and so on. You could try waking up a little earlier so that you have plenty of time to get yourself organised before work or other commitments. Being frantic in the morning really doesn't help anxiety. Believe me, this was my weakness!

I'm glad your anxiety improves as the day progresses. Have you been formally diagnosed with anxiety by your doctor? It's worth making an appointment with your GP to discuss this severe morning anxiety, so that you can learn coping strategies.

Best wishes,

SM
