topic Inner voice in Anxiety

Oh bluey moon ,

Hello again.

I am not sure if I argue, but rather try to fight it with truth. For example I may have a thought or a voice that says to me something like this.... " See he doesn't even care about you". And then I try real hard to remember that this person actually showed me yesterday that they do indeed care about me for they took me out for a picnic.

Sorry I may not be explaining that well. And whether it is normal, I am not sure.

Hugs for you

Hey Shelley,

You are explaining well! I think I'm just that sensitive to everything cause of my fears! So I'll go and convince my self I'm hearing voices! Because I'm arguing with myself! Even though I know it's coming from me! I was doing so well, I'm so disappointed in myself!

Skye,

how are you?

yes I do all the time. My inner voice tells me "don't ignore these symtoms, they are indicators of a neurological disease! You must fight to have a chance" and I argue back "I'm ok, it's just the anxiety, calm your mind and the symptoms will slowly fade"

this happens about 25 times an hour, all in my head of course.

its the anxiety

Hello Bluey moon,

I fight with myself internally sometimes. have an argument with myself once or twice everyday! having 2 (or more) voices inside your head is stressful. i have found that in order to maintain 1 i either fix or remove the external stressor that is causing me stress with a positive mindset head on or if that doesn't work i will meditate and breath and try to physically relax myself

it is definitely normal to argue with your inner voice but the difference is how people manage these conflicts

I hope this helps 🙂

Scot 2: But it's fun. Just a few minutes more.

Scot 3: I'm hungry. I want a biscuit.

Scot 4: Time to clean this house. Come on.

Scot. 5: Oh God I feel so guilty.

(and there's just 6 voices of mine, lots more in fact)

I argue with my inner voice on a regular basis. Today has been a quiete day. Depending on my level of distress I am internally yelling at myself. This emotional banter can be very tiring. I hate the days when I'm at war wiht myself.i generally withdraw to bed to get away but when I'm really bad this doesn't help either.

Thank you for all your advice everyone! It is helpful!

I am releived to hear people have the same experience! Most of you that know me on here know I have health anxiety, particularly this time that I am getting/have scizophrenia! So the thought that I argue with myself freaks me out! Even though I have been to a psyciatrict assessment, to a psycologist and dr who all say I have GAD and obbsessive thinking!

So I know it is an old thread I posted but I re read it after having a similar experience of answering and arguing with myself in my head! Both in my voice but I'll be like "it's ok its just my OCD". Then I'll be like "ok". Freaks me out but so many people say they talk to their inner voice and I'm assuming you all don't have scizophrenia
