Hi Ci

Lori has given some spot on advice!

the other thing I wanted to say was, don't waste time worrying that you are going to feel like this forever, I've been there a few times and it does always get better. But it takes time and practice to get better. It won't just happen with the flick of a switch. as much as we all wish it would.

hang in there and try some of the strategies that Lori suggested.

Not sure what to do I'm feeling lost so thought I'd post and get some stuff out!

Been really up and down had horrible day about 3 days ago ended up on the bathroom floor with my head spinning sounds dramatic but I've never experienced such bad panic attacks as what I've had this month.

Woke up fine the next day well not fine but functioning and close to normal as I get then bang today another panic attack and physically sick! How do you plan a day when halfway through without warning im having a panic attack.

I realized during this that I think this is it this is my life I will never be normal it was an awful realization I have 3 kids depending on me how can this happen why has this happened.

I feeling lost and hopeless I know not helpful to feel sorry for myself but today after that I do. I always so worried about how this is effecting my husband and kids and everyone else but right now I just feel sad for myself this is a horrible way to exist you can't call is living.

How do you get past this how do you accept it!

I feel a very real worry too about how I affect my family with anxiety too! In fact I talked it over with my psycologist today! Do you see any one like a psycologist?

Hang in there, your family loves you! And it is so obvious you feel the same way about them!

Is there anything that sets off the panic attacks? Situations ect?

I cope by telling myself I'm accessing the best health care I can, for me I've started medication, so I know it is only up from here, if I work hard on the techniques I'm learning!

I have bad days, yesterday and this morning were one of them, but with rainy days come rainbows, and at the time I couldn't see that. But talking to my psycologist and immersing myself in work and life I over come it. There will still be rainy days but they don't last forever.

Hang in there!

Hi ci,

Welldone for reaching out! And that's exactly why were here to listen to what you have to get out 🙂

Panic attacks can be so horrible everyone has different experiences and some worse than others. I myself have had some really horrible ones including like what you have just explained... but don't worry it gets better!!

What worked for me is i had my own relaxation stragies that i used to help keep me calm and to help me live in the now moment.

I started off by focusing on my breathing and getting it under control.. everyday i took 10 deep breaths either in the morning when i woke up or before going to bed i know you might be thinking what will that do but it trains the brain, now when i get panic attacks instead of my mind going blank i think about my breathing straight away and after a few deep breaths my mind becomes clearer and my heart rate slows down, also exercise is always a good solution to help anxiety.

Exercising could just be a 20minute walk each day to help clear your mind, practicing your breathing, exercising and other stuff you enjoy or what helps you keep calm can be really good for your mental health or even talking to someone ? Doesnt have to be a mental health professional could be your partner or a close friend ?

I know that you are feeling quite crappy at the moment but trust that it does really get better it has for me and it definitely will for you, push yourself to the best of your abilities challenge your anxiety and prove that you can beat it because you can! Try new things and best of all dont give up i have all faith in you!!

Stay strong! & Keep in touch.

- Lori 🙂

Hi Ci.

The thing that keeps me going is the thought of accepting
high levels of anxiety and having it as an everyday partner in life. Having
some anxiety from time to time is normal but when it gets debilitating it is a real
problem.

Something else that gives me strength to keep going is when
I turn a bad day around like Skye did the other day. Well done by the way Skye!
This shows me it is possible to get the better of anxiety.

Keeping a detailed diary of how you’re going also helps. I
use an app on my phone for this. It allows me to look back over time and see
how far I’ve come. It also allows me to pick up patterns in my anxiety and
helps trace what my thinking patterns have been.

Just keep at it you will get there in the end.

Thanks dwwmills

Your right does help to focus on the days that you turn it around. I just had such a bad few days it got to me.

I've tried the diary it have me so much insite into my anxiety. I've always had low level anxiety and yes that was normal day to day life last few years become debilitating with developing ocd.

Deep down I know I'm so lucky in so many ways and someday life will get easier just hard to see that some days

Thanks to everyone for posting
