Thanks Christina,

I'll try writing my thoughts and see if that helps. I don't know what it is about mornings. I go to sleep feeling great and then wake up feeling bad.

I think I need a change in strategy because my anxiety is kicking my butt.

i wake up every morning and it's there like a bad smell, lingering and unwanted.

This is my current routine:

wake up between 4:30 & 6am

try relaxation breathing in bed to get back to sleep

get up and go to lounge, listen to guided meditation sessions

Try to get a little more sleep on couch

if I have time go for a quick walk

force myself to get ready

go to work

I do all this and I still end up going to work really anxious. Sometimes on the way I even cry in the car.mon weekends I can take a little more time with it and the walk can be longer, but the results are the same.

so I was wondering what sort of routine others have found helpful so I might try it.

Hi Chicken Wings,

something that can really help me when i'm overly stressed and anxious is to sit down and be still and journal. I write down all my thoughts/ frustrations/ fears etc in a big jumble, not worrying about grammar or finishing sentences etc. I'll often cry and then things will feel more manageable again. Sometimes I'll identify an action that needs doing, though not necessarily for then and there, esp if i have morning commitments to get to. And other times I'll realise something had upset or stressed me and then be able to let it go. I wonder what suggestions others have?

Christina 🙂

Hi Chicken Wings, that sounds like something worthwhile to explore, to maybe try to uncover what it is about mornings that is so triggering. I'm the opposite, mostly my evenings are the really hard part where my mood drops and i get anxious. Good luck! Christina 🙂
