Hi Zoney
I'm am optical dispenser so can possibly help you in regards to this.

Have you asked your optometrist if you are a candidate for Myopia Control? Obviously without knowing your history I can only offer general advice.

You have a pretty high myopic prescription which can be caused by a number of factors, most of which are outside of your control, the main one is genetics which of course can't be changed.

With today's lifestyle of so much screen time we are seeing more and more vision problems, particularly in younger people. There has been a lot of research done to look at symptoms and ways of reducing these problems. One thing I would suggest is to continue wearing your glasses full time and most definitely take screen time breaks - Shelll hit the nail on the head with a lot in per post.

I would definitely recommend going back to see your optometrist and ask for options. You are too young for laser but I think that Myopia Control lenses might be an option.

Hi Zoneey,

According to some information I've read online, your best bets seem to be eating healthy, exercising, sleeping well, taking breaks from screen time, and wearing sunglasses when outside. If you Google 'How to improve eyesight' there seems to be some great (and more in-depth) information out there 🙂

Hi Zoneey,

No apologies needed. And you are no burden. So rest easy there.

I too have eyesight issues. My prescription is - 9.

Do you wear glasses, contact lenses at all?

I have looked into improving my eyesight as well. Here is some ideas that I have found.

1...Limit your screen time. And every now and then, look up and into the distance.

2...amberlite suggested eating carrots. It is very true. Cut a carrot into a circle, have a look at it. The circle bit looks like an eye with the iris in the middle. I have been on juice feasts where I drink carrot juice. I can vouch that my eyesight was much clearer. About 4 or 5 carrots makes a good sized juice. So if you have a juicer, give it a go.

3..Eat loads of fruits and vegetables

6...drink water

7...eye exercises

8...eye laser surgery

9...visit a specialist optometrist that may be able to show you exercises for your eyes
